With all of the innovations that have been made with the Playstation and the Xbox gaming systems over the past ten years, one can only guess what type of updates we’ll be seeing by the time we reach the next iterations. You’ll be able to join the Philadelphia Eagles and play in some virtual setting on the Lincoln Financial Field turf before long.

Still, with the ability to download EA’s Madden NFL game without even entering a store to make a purchase, there’s one feature that’s vanished over the years, a feature many of us used quite more often over the years… the reset button.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever exited a game after a two-interception first quarter. Heck, raise your hand if you’ve ever wished a reset button could be tapped after some real-life collapse or boneheaded move. We could start with the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

That’s what Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine did recently.

The Eagles ignore Jalen Reagor in a 2020 NFL Draft do-over (and they still miss out on Justin Jefferson).

This one is an interesting read when you have a moment. In Ballentine’s 2020 NFL Draft reset, as you might imagine, the Eagles decide against Jalen Reagor. As a matter of fact, every team selecting before Philadelphia in the first round does the same thing (and every team selecting after them follows suit). Sadly, Philadelphia misses out on Justin Jefferson too though.

The man who has made the Pro Bowl in each of his first two seasons winds up in the Motor City as a member of the Detroit Lions with the third-overall selection. The Birds wind up with Jalen Hurts at 21.

Wait! What just happened? Jalen Hurts at 21?

Maybe Ballentine forgot the Eagles still had Carson Wentz at the time. Maybe he’s leaning on the knowledge we’re all privy to now. Then again, he could be higher on Hurts than all of us. Whatever the case, even in a re-draft, we’re assuming Jalen could have slipped into Round 2 and still been available… maybe.

Many would probably rather see Michael Pittman Jr. be the selection at 21 (the Minnesota Vikings’ choice at 22). If not, Chase Claypool (the New Orleans Saints’ choice at 24) or Xavier McKinney (the Miami Dolphins’ choice at 30) could have been solid choices.

Trending. Eagles strike a deal with Detroit in this mock draft. light

One year ago, Bleacher Report ran with another 2020 re-draft. That one was authored by Kristopher Knox. The Birds didn’t land Jefferson in that one either. They did, however, wind up with a former First-Team All-ACC standout, wide receiver Tee Higgins.

We can live with that. The point of all of this is as follows. Anyone would have been better than Reagor. What can you do though? The past is the past, and at the time of this story being written and published, Jalen Reagor is still a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. Let’s hope that changes soon.
