The Philadelphia Eagles crank up the quarterback factory with the addition of two prospects.

The Birds aren’t done tweaking the offense. Their offensive additions feature some very notable names.

Carson Strong, Nevada Wolf Pack (quarterback)

Carson Strong could have easily been taken at some point during the three-day draft process. Most had him graded higher than Chris Oladokun, Skylar Thompson, and Brock Purdy, who all heard their names called in Round 7, but questions about his mobility and lingering knee issue obviously scared some teams off. Philly met with Strong at the most recent Senior Bowl, but he didn’t look overly impressive there. Grade: B+

E.J. Perry, Brown Bears (quarterback)

We won’t lie. We cheated. It’s hard to get charged up about Ivy Football, so Google and Bing searches were conducted here. You’ll like what we came up with though.

E.J. Perry is a two-time First-Team All-Ivy League star (2019, 2021) who took home Ivy League Player of the Year honors and earned the Bushnell Cup for being named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year in 2021.

His ceiling may lead him to the practice squad, but he’s a nice add post-draft. Grade: B

Update: Per a report from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Perry will now sign with the Jaguars. It seemed that Philly thought they had no chance at landing Carson Strong and went with Perry as a backup option. With no more confusion on the Strong front, Perry heads to Jacksonville.

Britain Covey, Utah Utes (wide receiver)

Here are the negatives. Britain Covey will be a 25-year-old rookie, and he lacks top-end speed. The positives include his ability to break tackles and add some value as a returner. Keep an eye on him this spring and summer. Grade: B

Kennedy Brooks, Oklahoma Sooners (running back)

We may not put the value on these guys that we used to, but a running back’s value always increases when you’re lacking one with a particular skill set. In Philly’s case, they need a workhorse.

Check that box with the signing of Kennedy Brooks. He can chew up yards late if the Eagles have a lead or pick up tough yards in key situations. Grade: A-

William Dunkle, San Diego State Aztecs (guard)

Dunkle is a six-foot-four, 328-pounder that started 30 games over the course of the last three seasons earned second-team All-American honors in 2021. He’s listed at 338 but tipped the scales at 347 during his Pro Day. Grade: B-

Josh Sills, Oklahoma State Cowboys (guard)

Josh Sills, a former Oklahoma State Cowboy who began his collegiate career at West Virginia, is getting a lot of guaranteed money, but when you’ve shown the ability to play all five positions along the offensive line, that can happen.

He’s approaching his mid-twenties, so he’s an older prospect. It will be interesting to see how he is valued. Grade: B-

Jarrid Williams, Miami (offensive tackle)

Jarrid Williams began his career at Houston with the Cougars before transferring to the Miami Hurricanes. As a redshirt senior, he started every game of the 2021 season.
