Hopefully, one of the new Philadelphia Eagles finds their way onto this list one day.

Who would have thunk? One day, we’ll be some old men and women, and we’ll sit on the porch or in our recliners, and we’ll tell our grandchildren about how the Philadelphia Eagles landed Nakobe Dean, a man who was seen and graded like a first-rounder, during Round 3 of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Something tells us that will work out well and Dean will play with a chip on his shoulder in an attempt to remind everyone of how he was overlooked. Believe it or not, even though Nakobe was a second-day draftee, it was his selection that reminded our staff at Inside The Iggles of some third-day prospects that turned out to be better than we thought they’d be, Jamar Chaney for instance.

Jamar Chaney (2010). 10. player. 54. . .

A seventh-round draft choice in 2010, Chaney appeared in 45 games as a member of the Eagles and made 24 starts at middle linebacker. That includes a playoff game. The result was 168 tackles, a sack, three interceptions, ten pass breakups, and two forced fumbles.

That’s good enough to earn him a spot on our list of the best third-day Eagles draftees taken during two decades beginning with the 2002 NFL Draft and ending with the one we watched unfold in 2021. Here are nine other very exceptional Eagles. If these types of guys could be found every year, we might be talking about a dynasty in the City of Brotherly Love.
