So, how does the Philadelphia Eagles draft class stack up against their rivals?

It was a very intriguing three days. The Philadelphia Eagles, after months of speculation, did what we should have expected them to do all along on the opening night of the 2022 NFL Draft.

They added the 2022 NFL Draft’s best interior defensive lineman, Jordan Davis. Then they traded two picks to land one of pro football’s best young receivers. A.J. Brown.

In the end, five new Birds were added to the nest:

  • Round 1, pick 13 overall: Jordan Davis, defensive tackle, Georgia
  • Round 2, pick 56 overall: Cameron Jurgens, center, Nebraska
  • Round 3, pick 83 overall: Nakobe Dean, linebacker, Georgia
  • Round 6, pick 181 overall: Kyron Johnson, linebacker, Kansas
  • Round 6, pick 198 overall: Grant Calcaterra, tight end, SMU

We have to admit it! Howie Roseman deserved a high-five for this one.

Some have even said Philly ‘won the draft’. Only time will tell if that statement proves to be accurate. Why? It’s quite simple actually.

The rest of the NFL showed up, and they made picks as well. At this risk of sounding biased, Philly did indeed have the best draft of all four NFC East teams (on paper anyway).

We’ve discussed the Eagles draft class in detail and handed out a few grades. Just for kicks, let’s take a look at the rivals now. Here’s a deeper look at what they did and how it could affect Philadelphia’s reclamation of the divisional crown.
