Former Eagles quarterback Nick Foles’ career is definitely a unique one

On May 23rd, former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles signed a two-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts, meaning he reunites with former Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich and will back up Matt Ryan. No one has to be told that Foles and Reich helped Philly earn their first Super Bowl win in franchise history, right?

Foles has had one unique career, mainly because he seems to have only succeeded in one place during two separate stints in the city of Brotherly Love. Everywhere else he’s been has led to disappointment. For whatever reason, things haven’t worked out too well. That is unless he’s only been needed to play in a few games versus an entire season.

His ten-year NFL career as a part-time starter has resulted in earnings of more than $78 million. Call him inconsistent or whatever you choose to, but he’s shown up when it’s time to play Tom Brady. Take it for whatever you will, but he owns a 2-0 record in quarterback duels versus the G.O.A.T. That could be a cool trivia question years from now.

Maybe it should be mentioned that everywhere he’s been, he’s had a familiar coordinator or quarterback coach to rely upon, but even with that working in his favor, again, things just don’t seem to work out in his favor.

Maybe that will change in Indy. Then again it may not. Matt Ryan doesn’t miss games, so while we wait on Foles’ next big moment on the NFL gridiron, how about we take a moment to highlight the six biggest stops on what’s been a wild ride of a career.
