3. Nick Foles reunites with former Eagles head coach Andy Reid in Kansas City.

After having a tough year with the Rams, Foles was on the brink of calling it a career, but Andy Reid gave him a call to join the Kansas City Chiefs to back up starter Alex Smith. That’s when everything changed.

Foles didn’t go to K.C. for the money. That’s obvious because his deal was for one year and was worth $1.75 million, but what wasn’t talked about often is a second-year option he had that would earn him more cash.

The Kansas City trip was for Foles to get back on the right track, and Reid is known to do that for quarterbacks. Big Red can get the best out of any quarterback that is under him.

In Week 7 of the 2016 season, Alex Smith would exit the game versus the Indianapolis Colts with a concussion, and Foles would embrace the moment by throwing for 223 passing yards and two touchdowns in a 30-14 win.

The following week with Smith still recovering from the concussion, the former Eagles quarterback would start again by throwing for 187 passing yards and one touchdown in a 19-14 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Foles would go back to being the back-up for the rest of the season after that game, and Kansas City would decline his second-year option making him a free agent once again.
