Could the Eagles see breakout seasons from several of their young stars on defense?

There’s no reason to be dishonest here. Though we’re a long way from the start of the Philadelphia Eagles‘ season, we’re still smiling about the job Howie Roseman and company have done in constructing the roster. We don’t like the decision to cancel minicamp. It seems as though that would have been an excellent opportunity to fine-tune some things seeing as how there are so many new pieces, especially on defense, but it is what it is.

Nick Sirianni knows his team better than we do. We can debate all day about teams needing to practice and why Jalen Hurts isn’t at minicamp if Tom Brady is, but none of us will know if Philly made the right decision until we see them get off to a hot (or cold) start when the games begin to count towards the win-loss total.

Still, losing six practices has to be tough on the young guys. They’ll need to lean on the veterans heavily once training camp begins. Thankfully, the Birds have some solid guys for them to learn from. Here are a few we’ll be watching not only in August but also throughout the 18-week, 17-game grind known as the NFL’s regular season.

We’re expecting breakout seasons from three guys, and we have no hesitation about saying that early.
