Who’s the third quarterback on the Eagles’ depth chart behind Hurts and Minshew?

Quarterbacks: Jalen Hurts, Gardner Minshew, Carson Strong

QB factory jokes aside, Philly has a well-rounded QB room. Jalen Hurts leads the group with a defining season ahead.

His presence in the run game keeps an extra defender out of the box. Now, it’s time to see if he continues to improve with ball placement, pocket mechanics, and progressions.

Philadelphia’s front office has given him the true boundary X (primary receiver) he needs in one of his close friends, A.J. Brown. Hurts also has a strong offensive line and other weapons around him. With two first-round picks in 2023, the Eagles have the assets to grab a quarterback if Hurts does not perform. The work ethic, leadership, and athleticism are there. If he continues to improve as a passer, he will be here in 2023.

Gardner Minshew could be a potential trade candidate in August if any other teams around the league have a quarterback injury. Right now, he is an excellent option behind Hurts who can win the Eagles a game if needed.

Carson Strong and Reid Sinnett will be battling it out for the third-string job. Sinnett had an impressive showing in the preseason finale in Miami. He landed with the Birds in late October and remained on the roster for the rest of the season.

The scheme familiarity is there, but Strong might have the edge due to his potential. Many thought he was a consensus Day 2 or early Day 3 pick. The knee injury was evidently a concern though.

If his knee isn’t a major issue, he could secure the job. His tape was excellent but teams may be concerned about him driving the football through his lower half.
