This past Thursday was busy at the NovaCare Complex. The Philadelphia Eagles announced the signing of a dozen familiar faces. That was shortly after head coach Nick Sirianni and vice president/general manager Howie Roseman spent just under 30 minutes with members of the Philly media. One of the more memorable moments of that presser came when Coach Sirianni stated that the Birds would be diligent in their search for a new defensive coordinator but they had no plans of rushing to make decisions either.

Nick Rallis was someone we thought had a shot. He joined the nest as a member of Nick Sirianni’s coaching staff in 2021 as the team’s linebacker coach. He was on our list of the best potential replacements, but his time in the City of Brotherly Love appears to be at its end.

According to Pro Football Talk’s Charean Williams, he will join Jonathan Gannon’s coaching staff in Arizona and serve as the team’s defensive coordinator. No official announcement has been made at the time of this story’s release, but that could come soon.

Eagles request an interview with Sean Desai for the vacant defensive coordinator position.

We don’t often draw lines that connect the Eagles and Seattle Seahawks, but we can do so today as CBS Sports Insider Jonathan Jones reported this past Friday that Philadelphia had requested permission to interview Sean Desai for their defensive coordinator opening.

Desai was hired by Seattle on February 11th of 2022 to serve as their associate defensive head coach. He has ten years of coaching experience dating back to 2006 when he was first hired to serve as a defensive and special teams coach for the Temple Owls.

Here’s what’s strange, at the time of this story’s release, his page can’t be accessed on Seahawks.com’s coaching roster. That probably doesn’t mean anything. Then again, it could mean something. Stay tuned. We’ll keep you posted.

Add his name to a list that already includes now-Cardinals DC Vance Joseph. His name was added to the rumor mill this past week.
