John Ross holds the record for the fastest time at the NFL Draft Combine.

Well, this doesn’t surprise anyone. John Ross clocked a 4.22-second 40-yard dash time at the 2017 NFL Combine which is still the fastest time recorded in the event’s history.

At the University of Washington, Ross’s best season as a wide receiver for the Huskies came during his final run with the team. He recorded 1,150 receiving yards with 17 touchdowns.

That would earn him First-Team All-American honors, a First-team All-Pac-12 nod, and AP Pac-12 Player of the Year honors for his play during the 2016 season.

John Ross also made a name for himself by returning kickoffs. He tallied 2,069 return yards with four touchdowns during his three seasons in Seattle.

Ross would get selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Sadly, his four years there were disappointing. He recorded 733 receiving yards with ten touchdowns.

In 2021, Ross would play one year with New York Giants but be only able to produce 224 receiving yards with one touchdown. No Eagles fan will complain about that. Ross sat out of football for a year but signed a reserve/future contract with the Kansas City Chiefs in January of 2023. His career continues. We’ll have to wait and see how things turn out.
