Those with a need for speed weren’t disappointed during the third day of the 2023 NFL Combine workouts. Current and rookie linebackers are going to have a few sleepless nights on the eve of games versus the coming rookie class’s tight ends. As if that isn’t bad enough there’s a speedy bunch of wide receivers coming AND quarterbacks who might actually be faster than their wide receivers and skill position players that they’re charged with distributing the ball to. One of them spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles, and it appears leadership walked away impressed.

Who are we kidding? Using our best descriptive phrases to describe these guys is a waste of time, right? All we care about is those 40 times, so let’s get down to business.

Every tight end invited to the 2023 NFL Combine ran a sub-five-second 40-yard dash.

There are no misprints there. You read that correctly. Here’s what the tight end group did in the 40-yard dash. For a full list of results, click here. Click on the other position groups for their times as well.
