Once a few more prospects hit the weights and try their hand at the bench press, the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine will be in our rearview mirrors. It was fun. It always is, but the Philadelphia Eagles were all business, taking in four days of on-field workouts and meeting with a handful of invited prospects.

Former UCLA Bruins standout Dorian Thompson-Robinson met with the Philadelphia Eagles as did tailback Jahmyr Gibbs (Alabama Crimson Tide). Still, despite lines that have been drawn during mock drafts and pre-draft theories that connect Philly to Texas Longhorns star Bijan Robinson at the NFL’s largest scouting event, the Birds met with Roschon Johnson, a six-foot-two, 223-pound force that spent the past two NCAA football seasons as the primary backup for Bijan Robinson.

Keep an eye on this impressive young man. During the Longhorns’ most recent season, he collected a six-yards-per-carry rushing average. He ran for 554 yards and five touchdowns in reserve duty and recently expressed that he saw the Eagles as being a fit for his skill set. He also mentioned that the Atlanta Falcons have shown some interest. Stay tuned!

Eagles news: Darius Slay’s former nemesis, Matt Patricia, is rumored to be a candidate for Philly’s vacant linebackers coaching position.

Well, this beef between Eagles players and JuJu Smith-Schuster doesn’t seem to be ending. That’s unfortunate. No one loves a good trash-talking session more than we do, but this one has gotten stale, hasn’t it?

Here’s your update. JuJu won’t stop. Darius Slay joined in on the back-and-forth. Take a look.

New 94 WIP-FM Morning Show host Joe DeCamara isn’t happy about it. Recently, he offered a response.

"You lost the Super Bowl. Let’s start with that. You lost! The defense lost the Super Bow. What I hear is complete and utter abdication of responsibility by Darius Slay.”"

You have no idea how ready we are for this to end! With that, we move on to… well.. more Darius Slay fodder.

More Eagles news: Matt Patricia is a candidate for Philly’s LB Coaching position.

Ask around about Matt Patricia’s reputation and temperament, and you’re certain to get a wide array of answers. Ask Darius Slay, and you might not get a glowing review. If you’ll remember, upon his arrival in Philadelphia, he shared his displeasure about what he described as being disrespectful feedback from his former head coach.

Might these two see a reunion? According to The Boston Herald’s Karen Guregian, Patricia is in the running for the Eagles’ vacant linebackers coaching position. Take a look.

Guregian also states “the door likely remains open for Patricia in New England” that is if he is interested in returning to Bill Belichick’s staff (Patricia, for some reason, called the offensive plays for the Patriots in 2022). Defense is, however, where he should live and make his money. He IS NOT an offensive mind.

The Eagles are also now looking for a defensive backs coach following the departure of Dennard Wilson. We’ll see if those positions are filled this week.
