Kenneth Gainwell looks to build on the momentum he gained during the Eagles’ playoff run.

This 24-year-old star is all the proof you need that good running backs can be found later in the NFL Draft. Kenneth Gainwell picked the best time to show off his best stuff last season as he helped fuel a march through the playoffs that helped land the Eagles in the Super Bowl.

During three playoff games, he outrushed starting halfback, Miles Sanders, collecting 181 yards on 33 carries. The former Nittany Lion notched 148 yards on 35 totes.

Kenny G’s breakout game in the playoffs came during the NFC Divisional Round versus the New York Giants. Try 12 carries for 112 yards with one touchdown on for size in that one.

Gainwell finished with 121 total scrimmage yards from scrimmage in that playoff win. That’s the highest total of any Eagles players during the postseason since Jeremy Maclin racked 146 versus the Dallas Cowboys in 2010.

Gainwell may not have been a starter, but during the past two seasons, he has eclipsed Miles Sanders’ receiving total by a 422-396 margin.

The man who’s living his dream playing for the team he grew up rooting for should get more opportunities next year. Kenny G has the talent to be an impact back, but the Eagles need to give him more carries.
