Our simulation cuts up early as the Eagles, with no attractive options at ten, trade down to the 14th-overall selection.

The New England Patriots currently hold the 14th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but our mock draft simulation sees value in them trading up a few spots for the chance to draft one of the top two offensive tackles in the draft.

Pro Football Focus’ simulator gives the Patriots an 87 percent chance of initiating a trade and accepting one involving the draft’s 14th selection. Here, it is packaged in Round 1 along with the 76th selection (Round 3), the 117th (round four), and the 184th selection in Round 6. The Philadelphia Eagles hand them the 10th pick and the 248th selection in Round 7.

It is important to remember the Patriots currently pick after the New York Jets. Accepting this deal helps them leapfrog a division rival and other teams that have similar needs. The Eagles could also ignore the interest to deal the latter first-round choice and elect, instead, to make a deal with the Patriots here.

If there’s no one interesting enough to spend a top-ten choice on (which wound up being the case in this scenario, most would be okay if they moved back to get a deal done.

Now, at 14, the Eagles are on the clock.
