Sometimes, the Eagles will announce roster moves, and they won’t work. Just look at the evidence.

Trades don’t always work out. Free-agent signings can be a gamble. The NFL Draft is a crapshoot. How many times have you heard any of those statements (or all of them)? It feels like, by now, the boneheaded decisions should be water under the bridge, but here we are. Every Philadelphia Eagles fan has asked themselves “What were they thinking?” sometimes.

An awful contract or an extension that shouldn’t have been drawn up… Some of those trades… Every draft… every free-agency cycle. Sometimes, bad decisions age poorly.

We’ve added former Dallas Cowboys. Sure, Herschel Walker was good, but Miles Austin, DeMarco Murray, and Felix Jones enjoyed brief stints here too. For the latter three, the statistics don’t warrant their addition.

There are the forgotten signings. Art Monk was an Eagle. So was William ‘The Refrigerator’ Perry. Neither of those two was here for long either.

Then, there’s Vince Young, a man who in his first Eagles presser, said two words, “Dream Team”. Sure, he won a Sunday Night Football game versus the New York Giants as the starter, but he’s mostly remembered for a statement he’d like to have back.

What’s sad is that wasn’t the worst of it. Let’s rewind the tape some. Here’s a trio that truly owes us a refund.
