This is not an exaggeration. Moments ago, a conversation was shared with a Dallas Cowboys fan who can’t be talked out of the idea that, somehow, Philadelphia Eagles Executive Vice President/General Manager Howie Roseman is ‘cheating’. Stop laughing. This is serious.

In a little less than 48 hours, we all watched as the best G.M. in pro football added Jalen Carter AND Nolan Smith during Round 1 of the NFL Draft before acquiring Tyler Sheen and Sydney Brown on Day 2 and Kelee Ringo with the third selection of the selection meeting’s fourth round. Things only got better as news broke that D’Andre Swift had been added by way of a trade with the Detroit Lions

While we recognize that all of this is of major concern to you if you’re a fan of one of Philly’s rivals in the NFC East, things couldn’t be going any better in Eagles Nation.

How is Howie Roseman pulling all of this off? Who knows? Who really cares? All we know is we hope he keeps working.

Here are the details of D’Andre Swift’s current deal and a look at what he’ll be earning with the Eagles in 2023.

According to the contract gurus at Spotrac, D’Andre Swift signed a four-year, $8,5 million deal as a rookie. That came with a $3,7 million signing bonus and $6,154,517 guaranteed at signing.

His salary during the 2023 NFL season will cost the Philadelphia Eagles a grand total of $1.77 million. The exact number is $1,774,397. He isn’t due a bonus of any sort. He is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent at the current season’s end.

It doesn’t get much better than that. The Birds get one of the better young talents at the tailback position. They get him for next to nothing (a 2025 fourth-round draft choice and the promise to swap seventh-round draft choices during the current draft). That’s most likely because a new deal would need to be worked out if Philadelphia elects to go that route. Their running back room has been upgraded instantly.

Swift will walk into the NovaCare Complex as the top man of the depth chart at his position. If he excels, we’ll see if there are plans to extend him; however, if he does leave, Philly is likely to earn a compensatory draft pick in 2025. Remember, that’s the same year in which they gave up a pick to acquire him.
