Let’s hope Sean Desai fares better versus elite quarterbacks than Jonathan Gannon did.

Some of the Eagles’ toughest games on the 2023-2024 regular-season slate pit them against teams featuring some of the game’s best quarterbacks. Is that a coincidence? We think not.

Keep your eyes on the quarterback duels featuring Jalen Hurts and the top four names on our list. They figure to be a lot of fun.

Eagles schedule, Tier 1: The ‘elite/above average’ tier

We were oh so close to dubbing this the ‘elite’ tier. Then, we realized something. Dak Prescott is our fourth guy, and he hasn’t earned that distinction yet. Still, he’s one of the top four QBs Philly will face this season.

Dak Prescott, Cowboys. 4. player. 123. . .

Say what you will about Dak. He’s better than half of the league’s starters though. He owns a winning record versus Philly, but he lacks that ‘clutch’ gene. Can the Eagles finally solve the Prescott puzzle?

. . Aaron Rodgers, Jets. 3. player. 30.

We’re beginning to see it. What about you? At some point, all the greats begin to regress, and we’re starting to see some chinks in Aaron Rodgers‘ armor.

Might a change of scenery help him turn the clock back some? We won’t have to wait much longer to find out. Philly gets a front-row seat as they’ll see him on the opposite sideline this season.

. . Josh Allen, Bills. 2. player. 16.

Sometimes, when we watch Josh Allen, we feel like we’re watching Jim Kelly and John Elway all over again, but there’s also a Cam Newton component here.

Like Cam, Allen is supremely gifted physically and looks like he’s carved out of stone. Like Cam, if Josh doesn’t stop taking all of the punishment he does, his career will wind up being shorter than we’d like it to be.

124. . . . Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs. 1. player

Well, you had to know this was coming. The reigning MVP now has two Super Bowl wins to his name. Patrick Mahomes is the game’s best. The only questions now are about how long he’ll play and how much he’ll win. Let’s just hope he drops his game versus the Eagles this season.
