Eagles news: Jason Kelce’s next career move may be an obvious decision
You have heard of the ‘it factor’, right? Depending on the discussion, we may vary in our ideas of what ‘it’ entails, but sometimes, explanations aren’t necessary and the statement works. Jason Kelce has ‘it’, and if you made that statement to a Philadelphia Eagles fan, you wouldn’t need to overextend yourself to get them to agree with you.
You know the story well. Once upon a time, Philly selected the former Cincinnati Bearcats star as the 191st selection of the 2011 NFL Draft. It’s still hard to fathom this now, but he was a sixth-rounder in an Eagles draft class that selected seven players ahead of him, including Danny Watkins, Jaiquawn Jarrett, Casey Matthews, and Julian Vandervelde.
Fast forward to the present and no one would question that he’ll land in the Pro Football Hall of Fame one day. As he enters his 13th NFL season, all of which have been played with the Eagles, discussions about his mortality occur more frequently.
Eagles news: Jason Kelce’s next career path might be one that’s obvious.
Though it feels like Jason Kelce could play this game of football forever, the truth is he won’t. Something tells us he has nothing to worry about though.
Jason Kelce is the type of guy that is so talented we truly believe he’d be great at anything he dedicates himself to, but the man responsible for authoring the greatest speech in the history of victory parades has long proven that he’s magical with a microphone in his hands. One needs only check out his Total Access takeover on NFL Network if they need any recent evidence.
Don’t forget about his weekly podcast New Heights, one he hosts with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. That one is presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment.
The Athletic’s Zach Berman did a phenomenal job with his recent write-up of the former marketing major. Check that one out when you have a moment. Doing so will no doubt assure you of two things (if you haven’t figured them out already).
One, he’ll never have to buy a meal in the City of Brotherly Love again, and second, we’re convinced when he finally hangs up the cleats for good, he’ll have his choice of several television outlets that are vying to secure his services.
