3 former Eagles who struggled in Week 6 (and 5 who thrived)

We check in with eight former Eagles to see how they did in Week 6.

We aren't going to lie to you. As much as we love Philadelphia Eagles football, we've been stressed by every contest. Once the collapse occurred in Week 2, we've felt anxiety every week as game day approaches.

Oh, we're watching the games. We can't remember the last time we missed one. We're thinking the late 90s. That isn't an exaggeration. Good times or bad, we WILL find our way to the stadium or in front of the television. We'll do whatever it takes.

There are, however, times when we need to decompress. It's tough to watch your favorite team struggle to outlast one of the NFL's worst teams... and then watch your head coach chirp at the hometown fans after that happens.

We bet we know what you're thinking That apology resulted from a request made by Jeffrey Lurie. We sure as heck believe that. That isn't the point though. Let's get back to the decompression angle.

Sometimes, when your team is stressing you out and not gaining consistent traction, you must entertain yourselves with games where you don't have dogs in the fight.

That's what we did, and guess what? We got to check out some former Eagles. Here's how they did. How about a round of 'studs and duds'?

Isaac Seumalo, Pittsburgh Steelers (Dud)

Even if both teams fall on hard times (or the Raiders move to Las Vegas), we'd still be pumped for a day of Pittsburgh Steelers vs. 'The Silver and Black'. It was a tough day for the home team though as the Terrible Towels were everywhere in Allegiant Stadium.

Raiders Gardner Minshew and Marcus Epps sat out, so we tried to pay attention to Isaac Seumalo. He did okay we guess, giving up two pressures and committing a penalty. Pro Football Focus gave him run, pass, and overall grades of 63.3, 51.7. and 61.9 respectively.

Things could be worse. They also could be better.

Miles Sanders, Carolina Panthers (Dud)

Philly's O-line helped a couple of tailbacks to Pro Bowl seasons and big paydays in contract seasons recently. One is the real deal. The other one isn't. We'll discuss that more in a second. Guess which category Miles Sanders falls in.

He notched three carries for one yard in Week 6. That gives him 98 yards and a TD on 30 totes. Sheesh... He's also gained 71 yards on 11 receptions.

Nelson Agholor, Baltimore Ravens (Dud)

Nelson Agholor hasn't caught more than two passes all season, and he's only done that once. Week 6 brought another one-reception showing. This one went for 25 yards.

That's good, but let's be honest. He's never going to live up to his first-round draft status. It's hard to believe anyone spent a first-round draft choice on this guy.

No, wait... That was Philly... Nevermind... We'll label him as a dud, but he isn't a major dud. Look at the bright side. He gets a few opportunities per game, and he normally makes good on one.

Yep!! Isaac, Miles, and Nelly all had rough outings, but Let's end this story with several high notes. Let's talk about a few other familiar faces.

T.J. Edwards, Chicago Bears (Stud)

Every time we watch an Eagles linebacker do something annoying, we ask ourselves why this team couldn't give TJ Edwards $5-6 million per season. Sunday was another day at the office for the former Eagle. Seven tackles, a pass breakup, and a forced fumble in London helped extend his season tackle total to 47 in six games.

27 of those tackles have been solo. Three have resulted in a loss of yardage.

D'Andre Swift, Chicago Bears (Stud)

We mentioned Pro Bowl RBs from the Eagles offensive factory. We've discussed Miles. Let's talk about D'Andre Swift for a few seconds.

Swifty leads the NFL in scrimmage yards from Week 4 to Week 6. In London, he notched 91 yards on 17 carries. He also caught another four passes for 28 yards. He also reached the end zone as a rusher. We salute you, sir!

Mack Hollins, Buffalo Bills (Stud)

Mack Hollins is still going. He caught a TD pass on Monday Night Football. Now, why couldn't he do that here? Oh yeah... He only wanted to play on special teams.

That was Mack's only catch of the game, but it's worth a mention. Technically, we could argue those six points helped decide the most recent Buffalo Bills-New York Jets clash.

Zach Ertz, Washington Commanders (Stud)

Zach Ertz isn't setting the world on fire. He isn't the focal point of the Commanders' offense, but he's done what you'd ask, make plays when the ball comes his way.

He was off versus the Cleveland Browns in Week 5. He only hauled in two of eight targets, but other than that, he's caught 19 of 21 targets.

Four came in Week 6 as Washington came up short in a game vs. the Ravens that wasn't really as close as the score would indicate.

Rodney McLeod, Cleveland Browns (Stud)

Rodney McLeod became the oldest player to score a return TD vs. the Eagles since Darrell Green still played in Washington. Thankfully, Philly had a full half of football to recover from Rodney's 'kick-six' (Can we call it that?)

Here's a secret. We still love this dude, so if we can walk out of a tough Eagles game knowing the right team won, we can live with seeing Rodney somersault into the end zone wearing the wrong-colored uniform.

Good for him! Better for us!
