3 reasons an Eagles victory over the Browns can be guaranteed in Week 6

The Eagles get back on the winning trail in Week 6. That's a guarantee, and we can be quoted.

The bye week has ended. The Philadelphia Eagles return to work. An AFC North opponent represents the next speed bump on their journey. The Cleveland Browns, owners of a 1-4 start will hopefully serve as sacrificial lambs.

This is being viewed as a possible 'reset game', but even though the NFL is a more difficult game than NCAA football, Philly can learn a lot from what we've seen at the collegiate level. Raise your hand if you watched a little college football during the bye week.

The highlight of last Saturday's action had to be the Vanderbilt Commodores' upset win over the Alabama Crimson Tide. That one led to the resurfacing of a statement Nick Saban made a while ago.

"The only place you're going to play in the SEC that's not hard to play is Vanderbilt. When you play at Vanderbilt, you have more fans there than they have. No disrespect to them, but it's the truth."

Vandy's fans and their alumni had a lot of fun after that one, but the more important takeaway is no team should ever look past ANYONE on the schedule.

We've said all of that to state the following. We've decided to do so anyway. Philly needs a win to help them keep pace with a rival, the Washington Commanders, and their star rookie, Jayden Daniels. He's been on fire.

The Eagles will beat the Cleveland Browns in Week 6, guaranteed.

The NFL prides itself on parity. For the most part, they have achieved it. Some franchises can't be helped though. Look no further than the snake-bitten Cleveland Browns for evidence.

A loyal fan base like the Browns deserves more than consistent losing and Deshaun Watson. Cleveland is a passionate sports town, but when you watch them play, words like 'cursed' come to mind.

Our bold prediction is this. Philly steadies the ship. They win by double digits. Go ahead, You are allowed to quote us. Here are three of a dozen reasons that we could name.

Jameis Winston is suddenly a better quarterback than Deshaun Watson, but the Browns refuse to sit their starter.

Deshaun Watson is cooked. No, seriously... He's done. It's over for this guy. Cleveland would have a shot of winning this game if they started Jameis Winston, but they won't.

That would force them to admit they made a five-year, $230-million mistake. Good gracious... These guys are a mess.

The recent bye will do this Eagles team some good.

Our first glimpse at the Eagles' schedule early during the offseason left us with an immediate takeaway. 'Gosh, the bye week is early'. Following the first four weeks of the season, however, it felt like this team needed a break.

Following a Week 1 win, Philly sandwiched a hard-fought win between two ugly losses. The week off couldn't have come at a better time. Hopefully, it has helped them rest and refocus.

Here's one more thing of note. The Eagles are 3-0 after the bye week under head coach Nick Sirianni. They couldn't have found a better opponent to help them improve to 4-0.

A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Lane Johnson should all be back in the lineup.

Approaching Week 6's game, they get three starters back on the offensive side of the ball. That's good news for this team ahead of the game.

Thank goodness. Despite the opponent's struggles, all hands will be needed on deck for a win.
