Another loss, another embarrassing performance from the Philadelphia Eagles on primetime, as they fell to the Washington Commanders 27-10 in Week 8.

They managed less than 270 yards, while the Eagles' defense allowed over 330 yards. Too many explosive plays were allowed by the defense, and Philly was just a poorly coached team.

There are actually some winners (shocker) from this game, but there are probably more than five losers that were listed in this article. For the sake of time, let's just roll with those five and talk about the standout performances, good and bad, from the Eagles' Week 8.

Winners and losers from Eagles' Week 8 loss to the Commanders

Winner: Jalen Carter, DT

Carter was called out for his effort in the Eagles' Week 7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, and he didn't like it at all. He responded with five tackles, three pressures, one pass deflection, one quarterback hit, one pressure for loss, and one sack. That's a good way to show fans he is still battling out there because he arguably had the best day on the field for the Eagles.

Loser: Markel Bell, OT

Poor Bell was simply not ready to start in 2026, but he is getting bullied at that right tackle position. He allowed three pressures, two sacks, and one hurry in the loss. While the experience will help him, his confidence is starting to be lost, so it might be time to have Fred Johnson taking over at right tackle to show Bell how it works and let the rookie learn.

Winner: Makai Lemon, WR

This Eagles team had few bright spots. Aside from one bad drop on the final drive, Lemon played pretty well again and led the team in receiving. He finished with six receptions for 57 yards, and his longest play was 20 yards. Lemon and Tanner McKee have clear chemistry, and as long as McKee is the starter at quarterback, the rookie first-round pick will be the top option in the pass game.

Loser: Jonathan Greenard, EDGE

Why in the world did Howie Roseman give up two third-round picks and $98 million to a guy who is doing absolutely nothing for this franchise? In 28 snaps, Greenard had one tackle. No pressures or sacks, just one tackle. That is one expensive tackle for the Eagles. This clearly isn't working out.

Winner: Nolan Smith Jr., EDGE

Now here's an edge rusher who actually does his job and can redeem himself with the fan base. Smith has arguably been the team's best pass rusher, finishing the game with three tackles, three pressures, two quarterback hits, one tackle for loss, and one sack. Before the season, questions about Smith's future lingered, but he looks like someone the Eagles need to be fully invested in, with a new contract this offseason.

Loser: Jake Elliott, K

All season, Elliott has played so well and hasn't missed a single kick. That was until he decided to hit the ball off the goalpost in the second half from 41 yards out. Come on, Elliott. It's been such a good year for you; the last thing this team needs is to start questioning the kicker position.

Loser: Howie Roseman, GM

Let's stop giving this man a pass on everything because he's won multiple Super Bowls for the franchise. The Greenard and Dalton trades were bad, the Johnny Mundt signing was a waste, his four-quarterback decision was ugly, and he did not give this franchise enough depth at any position. As great as Roseman has been over the years, his work this offseason and regular season has been pretty bad.

Loser: Nick Sirianni, HC

What's there to say at this point? This coach seems to have lost his roster and isn't playing well. Sirianni hasn't had his team prepared for a game in nearly a month and a half. It would be more surprising if he kept his job at this point, because this team has collapsed on an epic level the franchise hasn't seen in over a decade.
