The Philadelphia Eagles are set to face the Chicago Bears in a Week 3 Monday Night Football showdown, with plenty of intrigue and players who could hurt the team badly.
The Eagles have had several performances in the first two weeks of the regular season that have fans questioning what is going on. Philly needs some of their starters or role players to step up and get the job done, and they haven't.
The real question is which of these players are getting to the point where they might need to sit on the bench for a bit because they are hurting the team or not doing much of anything at all. Here's a look at a few players that fit that category.
Who can't the Eagles trust to play through two weeks of the 2026 season?
Marcus Epps, S
Epps has missed too many tackles and is becoming a liability in pass coverage. He has missed three tackles this season and has allowed a passer rating of 118.8. In two games, he's racked up nine tackles.
Kenny Moore was signed for a reason; he is going to be the savior at secondary. Philly can't afford to keep putting Epps on the field if he plays as he did against the Titans in Week 2.
Cam Jurgens, C/G
To be fair to Jurgens, he played left guard for the first time in his career, but even in Week 1, he was called for two penalties at center. He's allowed three pressures, one quarterback hit, and one sack this season.
Jurgens is a two-time Pro Bowl center who has been put in an impossible situation, but even last year he wasn't the same player Eagles fans saw in 2024. It may be best to either move him back to center or bench him altogether until Landon Dickerson returns and readjusts.
Arnold Ebiketie, EDGE
What was even the point of adding Ebiketie in the offseason and putting him on the field if he isn't going to do much? He has three tackles this season, but hasn't added any pressures or hurries in 43 total snaps.
The idea of having him on the team was good at first, since he is young and was very good at pressuring the quarterback with the Atlanta Falcons. That's yet to be seen, and frankly, it's pretty disappointing to see him do absolutely nothing for this team.
Makai Lemon, WR
It's unfortunate because Lemon has the potential to be a great player, but he doesn't have the "it" factor right now. He caught a 14-yard pass against Tennessee but finished with -5 yards rushing.

At this point, if the Eagles can't use him effectively on these screen passes, what's the point of putting Lemon out there? They clearly don't trust him to run a vertical route, since Darius Cooper has had more impact in the passing game than Lemon. Something might have to change with this lineup.
