It wasn't the kind of way the Philadelphia Eagles wanted to kick off their preseason, but it was the one they got after losing 24-7 to the Baltimore Ravens.
The Eagles' offense struggled to move the ball down the field until late in the fourth quarter. Even the defense opened the floodgates in the fourth quarter, allowing 14 points.
This was the kind of game that left a lot to be desired, but it still had its share of good and bad. Here's a look at the winners and losers from the Eagles' loss to the Ravens.
Winners-losers from Eagles' preseason loss to the Ravens
Winner: Willie Lampkin, OL
There were actually a lot of offensive linemen who had really good nights for the Eagles, but Lampkin had the highlight play of the night. After pushing a Ravens defensive lineman nine yards and then throwing him another three yards, the 5-foot-11 offensive lineman proved his worth to be on the roster. In 13 pass-pro snaps, he didn't allow a quarterback hit, hurry, or sack in the game, so yeah, he had a good night on the field.
Loser: Andy Dalton, QB
For a veteran quarterback, the Eagles would think Dalton would be able to lead the offense to do something, right? Incorrect, as the offense had 27 yards on the three drives Dalton led, with him completing three of six passes for 20 yards. He didn't exactly take the QB2 job and run with it, but neither did Tanner McKee, to be fair.
Winner: Jeremiah Trotter Jr., LB
This might be the most unsurprising winner of the night, as any Eagles fan could have predicted Trotter to be on the list before the game. He finished with five tackles, three pressures, two run stops, and one sack. Yes, he needs to 100% earn a spot in the rotation with the starters when the 2026 regular season starts.
Loser: Mac McWilliams, CB
Cornerbacks should never lead the team in tackles because it shows that they allowed too many completions. McWilliams led the Eagles with 10 tackles, but watching the game made it clear that the Ravens targeted him time and time again, and he allowed easy completions. There was not a whole lot good about his or Kelee Ringo's night, but Ringo escaped the loser category because of his interception. Not McWilliams, though, because he struggled all night.
Winner: Ty Robinson, DT
Robinson has been picking up momentum over the last week at training camp, and that carried over into the Ravens game. He finished with two tackles, one tackle for loss, one quarterback hit, and one sack, but the stats don't tell the whole story. He got good penetration on Baltimore's offensive line and caused a lot of havoc throughout the contest. It was a good performance from the young defensive lineman.
Loser: Sean Mannion, OC
159 total yards of offense, six first downs, and they didn't convert any of the nine third downs they faced. To say it was a rough debut for Mannion as the offensive coordinator would be an understatement. It's just preseason, so let's not get crazy, but let's not pretend there isn't a little concern about the depth behind the offense and how Mannion's offense looked. At least they didn't have any turnovers, though, right?

Winner: Cole Payton, QB
Of the backup quarterbacks on the night, Payton was the only one who led a scoring drive and actually could move the offense past midfield. He finished with 37 passing yards and 45 rushing yards, including a six-yard touchdown pass to Erik Ezukanma. Sure, it wasn't a perfect performance, but the rookie showed the playmaking skills Eagles fans wanted to see from him, so all in all, it was a successful night for the North Dakota State product.
