5 impressive Jaguars defenders Kellen Moore and the Eagles offense must monitor

Kellen Moore's offense should have its way with Jacksonville's defense, but there are still a few young Jags defenders worth discussing.

They say things worth having won't come easy, and things that come easy aren't worth having. We aren't really sure of where that phrase originates. We're certain it had nothing to do with the Philadelphia Eagles' offense, but that isn't important. Hang in there. We're going somewhere.

We've been waiting on Philly's offense to become that consistent juggernaut. Things began pretty well as the Birds tallied 55 points in Weeks 1-2, but they sputtered and averaged just 17 points versus the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Cleveland Browns between Weeks 3-6. We don't care who's absent or hurt. This offense has enough weapons, and that should never happen.

The Eagles' offense should have its way with young Jaguars defense that has a handful of playmakers.

You can see why we're happy with the recent outburst vs. the New York Giants and Cincinnati Bengals, right? We won't say we're happy we had to wait for Philly's offense to gain traction, but we get it. The offensive coordinator had to get to know his players (and vice versa).

28 and 37 points scored by Philly's offense in Weeks 7-8 respectively have us singing Kellen Moore's praises. It feels like guys are figuring things out and have finally turned the corner.

Next on the slate is a tussle with the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars. Here are several guys we know are being discussed in offensive meetings.

Ventrell Miller, linebacker

Ventrell Miller leads the Jags in tackles (54 with 38 solo stops). He's done this despite only starting half of Jacksonville's first eight games of the season. He has also broken up a pass and has forced a fumble.

Jarrian Jones & Tyson Campbell, cornerbacks

Ronald Darby is a starter on the Jags' depth chart across from Tyson Cambell. Jarrian Jones is the nickel back and is one of two Jags with an interception. They'll be charged with stopping A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith this week.

We'd give a slight advantage to the Birds in that matchup.

Devin Lloyd, linebacker

Devin Lloyd has produced the second-highest tackle total on this young Jags defense. He does just about everything pretty well. He's produced a sack this season and has also broken up a couple of passes.

He's the starting MIKE on Jacksonville's defense. Keep both hands on the ball when he's around because he has also forced a fumble this season.

DaVon Hamilton, nose tackle

The big man in the middle is six-foot-four and 335 pounds. He's a space eater who creates an opportunity for his other teammates. He isn't a pass rusher per se', but he can create issues in the Eagles' running game.

Travon Walker, EDGE

Jacksonville may revamp the 'Sacksonville' moniker if their young guys can get on a roll. They have two talented edge rushers, Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen.

Walker has already tallied 6.5 sacks on the season. That leads the team. It will, more often than not, be Fred Johnson's duty to keep him in check.

Worth mentioning: Ronald Darby

Ronald Darby is worth another mention for obvious reasons. He was part of the Eagles' Super Bowl team, one led, as you know by Jags head coach Doug Pederson.

Darby has been dealing with a hip injury but was a full participant at Jacksonville's Wednesday and Thursday practice sessions. It's safe to assume he'll be in the lineup for the Jags on Sunday.
