Analyst's Midseason All-Pro Team gives the Eagles a cold shoulder

PFF didn't show Philly any love with this one.

We haven't taken the time to ask anyone on the Philadelphia Eagles' roster this, but our assumption is everyone has bought in. From the outside looking in, it appears they support Nick Sirianni and genuinely cheer for one another.

That's a good thing. We've heard too many rumors about dissension and needing to clear the locker room of toxicity. In any profession, the job seems easier and the company runs smoother if the employees have found harmony.

There's a balance though. It's a business. Guys have to look out for themselves. When players take trips to the negotiating table at contract time, they don't take 52 teammates with them.

Right now, you're probably thinking about the title and wondering if you're reading the right article. You are. Everything said up until now was stated to say this.

All-Pro Teams don't help teams win Super Bowls, but they do help guys earn Gold Jackets and more money. They're also a good indicator of how well your favorite NFL stars or playing (or how they're perceived).

The Eagles are given the cold shoulder by Pro Football Focus.

Though team goals and achievements are typically the most important, every NFL star cares about his legacy. Why wouldn't they? Many guys in the Pro Football Hall of Fame didn't win Super Bowls, and let's be honest, with every Eric Allen snub, we're ticked off.

Aside from all of that, we're fans. We like voting for our Birds when the Pro Bowl ballot is released. We always peek to see how many of our guys are voted on the roster once it's unveiled.

We also pay attention to what the insiders and analysts are thinking. We check out Pro Football Focus once or twice daily. Gordon McGuinness's recent write-up gives his thoughts on a 2024 NFL Midseason All-Pro Team. It's a solid roster. One problem... We don't see any Eagles.

We know what you're thinking. This won't help Philly beat the Jacksonville Jaguars. You're right. It won't, but when you have a little extra time on your hands, these are some of the things you notice.

Maybe this is a representation of Philly's on-and-off struggles. Maybe missed time by some of the starters, A.J. Brown, for instance, is to blame.

Here's what we know. Philly needed to play better earlier this season. These past two games have given us hope that they have turned the corner as a football team.

Several of Philly's stars have topped PFF's rankings so far this season. Some have been nice surprises. That's a trend that we assume will continue.

Team success will lead to more Pro Bowl votes and maybe some All-Pro mentions, not just from PFF but from the Associated Press as well.
