After all the talk about the Philadelphia Eagles' passing game and the drama with A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Brown are certainly backing up their word in the first half against the Denver Broncos.
It all stemmed from a post made by Brown that had everyone talking. After a whole week of answering questions about it, Brown owned up to his post, but had the support of his teammates. Smith kept relatively quiet about it, but agreed with Brown that the passing game needed to improve.
The Eagles needed to get it going in the passing game and get Smith and Brown in the first half. It was clear from the beginning that the game plan this week was to get them back into the passing game.
Smith and Brown dominated the first half for Eagles
It was a good first half for Brown and Smith, with Smith shining just a bit brighter. He had a great 52-yard completion from Jalen Hurts that helped lead them to their only touchdown of the drive. Smith had four receptions for 75 yards on six targets.
Brown didn't get the big plays some people were hoping, but he still made a good impact. He had four targets and caught all four of them for 35 yards.
They combined for eight catches for 110 yards. The rest of the receivers on the Eagles gained 28 yards in the first half.
Overall, the play calling changed and it opened the door for Smith and Brown to get more involved. Brown was handling more curls and slant routs, Smith was more about going deep.

This was the offense everyone has been waiting to see all season. The Eagles just needs to be more consistent with the passing calls by offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo.
