The 2025 season was certainly a wild ride for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, with plenty of drama involved.

From the reports of him asking to be traded multiple times to the comments made in public about the team. Brown certainly stayed busy during the season and remained in the news week after week as he finished with 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns.

While many outside the Eagles' facilities have been critical of the distraction that Brown has created, it may not be viewed the same way from those within the league. Brown spoke at an EA Sports event, where he was asked whether the media and his fan base had misunderstood him.

"I won't say I'm misunderstood because we understand each other perfectly fine cause we are competitors and when you're in that space, that's the only people that matter, you understand? So, like understand birds fly, fish swim. Be aligned who you are, stay in alignment, and so like I said, we're competitors. Fans they come to watch the game, media they talk about the game. It's when I get in trouble when I step outside of that lane and I get upset at the media or get upset at what they're saying to me. That's not my lane and so obviously, I'm gonna be misunderstood to everyone else, but to like competitors who's in that space, they understand what it takes. Because you know, you gotta go to a dark place to achieve those goals. You know you gotta get up and make those sacrifices. Media, fans, and everybody else, they just watching the game."

A.J. Brown spoke out about being misunderstood

It's fair that the media and fans sometimes view Brown as a "distraction" or "bad for the team," but much of what he says is true. He spoke about the offense's struggles, and the same complaints were coming from the fan base.

Most Eagles fans would like him to keep it behind closed doors, but he has never been wrong about what he is saying. Brown has always spoken the truth, as he cares more about being the solution to the problem than about watching the problems around him.

The more Brown speaks this offseason publicly, the more fans are convinced that things are good in Philly, but who really knows? The Eagles still need to decide whether to trade or keep him, which won't be decided for a while.
