So much change has already occurred for the Philadelphia Eagles, and there are hopes that no more will happen, but the threat remains.

Besides the whole A.J. Brown situation, Eagles offensive linemen Lane Johnson and Landon Dickerson are thinking about retirement after they each dealt with injuries in 2025. During his weekly appearance on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter shared his thoughts on what is going on with Johnson and Dickerson, who are pondering retirement.

“I do expect that Lane Johnson will be back. I have heard the Landon Dickerson conversation [on potential retirement], I don’t know how real it is or isn’t; but I’d be surprised if Lane Johnson isn’t back, I don‘t know as much about Landon Dickerson”.

Johnson has had his fair share of injuries, but he's been able to fight through all of them and get back on the field. It's a big reason why he has made six Pro Bowls and been selected as an All-Pro twice.

If it hadn't been for his foot injury, Johnson would have been an All-Pro and Pro Bowler again. In 262 pass blocking snaps, he didn't allow a single quarterback hit or sack within the 10 games he played in for the Eagles.

Dickerson had gotten off to a fast start with three straight Pro Bowl selections from 2022 through 2024, but last year really set him back with all the injuries he dealt with all season, and it showed in his performance. He allowed seven quarterback hits, five sacks, and committed five penalties as Pro Football Focus graded him out at a 67.2, ranking him 30th out of 81 interior guards in the NFL.

With Jeff Stoutland's stunning departure from the Eagles after 13 years as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator, Philly cannot afford to lose Johnson or Dickerson at this point. For the first part of the offseason, the biggest question will be whether either guy returns to the line in 2026.
