The big chatter from Super Bowl LX is how the Seattle Seahawks dominated the New England Patriots with their defense, but Philadelphia Eagles fans might have some arguments about that after their 40-22 Super Bowl LIX win over the Kansas City Chiefs last year.

Everyone has talked about how the Eagles' and Seahawks' defenses have taken over the Super Bowl games over the last two years. The real question is which performance was better.

NFL Network shared a comparison of how the Seahawks' defense played in the last Super Bowl and how the Eagles did in the previous one. Here's a look at what they compared together:

Eagles' Super Bowl defensive performance proved to be more impressive

There are two key stats that the Seahawks beat the Eagles at: points allowed, with Seattle allowing 13 while the Eagles allowed 22, and punts forced. Aside from that, Philly had the more impressive performance for several reasons.

Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio didn't need to blitz multiple times to get pressure on Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, as Philly did it zero times. The defensive line created all that pressure on Mahomes.

Nothing against the Patriots, but that Chiefs team from the 2024-2025 season was maybe not the flashiest, but they were, in some ways, a better team. Kansas City has won three Super Bowls since 2020, with five total appearances, while this Patriots team had a first-year head coach with a second-year quarterback.

Nothing should be taken away from the Seahawks' Super Bowl win, as they earned it with one of the best defensive performances in Super Bowl history. The Eagles, though, can argue that they had a more impressive performance that will be more memorable than the Super Bowl.
