He handled it better than we would have.

There was considerable discussion about the officials in the Philadelphia Eagles' 21-17 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, who were accused of missing some calls. One was probably the biggest of them all that could have changed everything.

On the second-to-last play of the game, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts went deep near the end zone, looking for tight end Dallas Goedert, who fell incomplete. It appeared on the play that Goedert was dragged down by the Broncos defender, but no penalty was called.

Goedert tried to get an explanation from the referees and told them that he was grabbed, but they didn't change the call. The Eagles were forced to attempt a Hail Mary on the last play of the game, but it also went incomplete, and Philly lost the game.

That sparked a firestorm of Eagles fans and media members going off on social media that they missed the call. While no one wants to pin a whole game on the officials, if a penalty had been called, the Eagles would have been inside the five-yard line with a shot to win the game.

It's hard not to think what could of been.

Goedert and officials answer questions after the game regarding the play

Everyone was looking for any kind of answers after the game. Goedert was swarmed by media members in front of his locker room to ask him about the play, but he showed restraint in his response.

"They didn't throw a flag, so have to go back and see on tape, but it would have been interested to see what happened down there."

When asked if he had received any explanation from the referees about the play, his answer was simple and to the point.

"No."

NFL official Adrian Hill was also asked about the Goedert non-call after the game, with Hill responding that the crew did not see anything out of the ordinary.

"So our officials saw mutual hand fighting and hand-to-hand combat and did not see action that rose to the level of a foul on that play."

Goedert finished the game with three receptions for 19 yards and a touchdown in the loss. A PI call on the Broncos against him would have been nice.

There will be debates about whether a penalty should have been called, but ultimately, the Eagles lost this game and have only a few days to bounce back to try to beat the New York Giants on Thursday.
