If you can't beat 'em, you might as well draft players who root for 'em, right? The New York Giants have drafted longtime Pennsylvania native, Eagles fan, and Penn State star pass rusher Abdul Carter with the 3rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but it's not going to have the effect they're intending.

Abdul Carter isn't going to be able to stop Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles' tush push.

The New York Giants not only selected Abdul Carter with the 3rd overall pick, but moments after they made the pick, they picked up the fifth-year option on former first-round pick Kayvon Thibodeaux. They are going to try to bring pass rush in waves to try and get on the Eagles' level with those two guys and veteran Brian Burns off the edge.

Giants take Abdul Carter to try and slow down Eagles offense

The New York Giants really feel like they are in desperation mode at this point. They were allegedly the team that tried the hardest to get up to the 1st overall pick to take Miami quarterback Cam Ward, but to no avail. They got jumped for Travis Hunter.

Even as good of a prospect as Abdul Carter is, it still feels like the Giants had to settle. They stlll don't have their franchise quarterback in place after signing both Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson.

It's been tough going for the Giants since the end of the 2022 season as they've made one embarrassing move after another. Drafting Carter isn't an embarrassing move, but it is another reminder of just how far they have to go to get even close to the Eagles' level.

Yes, you can never have too many pass rushers, but Abdul Carter isn't going to come in and stop the tush push, which is just another reminder of how the Eagles own the Giants.
