As soon as the news of the Dallas Cowboys hilariously released one of their top defenders, Trevon Diggs, the Philadelphia Eagles became one of the top names brought up as a destination for Diggs, since they are a playoff team.

Whether Diggs is a realistic option for the Eagles is another question in its own that many fans have been asking. While appearing on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter addressed the question of whether the Eagles would actually bring Diggs in.

"All I'm saying is I think that they need to discuss as an organization to figure out whether they'd want to. Like again, they traded for Jaire Alexander six, seven weeks ago. So, if they feel like he can help their team, you bring him in. If they feel like he can't, you don't. So that's up to them to figure out and discuss. I don't know where they'll come in on that."

Could Eagles fans see Trevon Diggs in the midnight green uniform?

This season has been a tough one for Diggs, as he has faced the same injuries that plagued him over the last two years. In eight games, he's racked up 25 tackles and one tackle for loss, but no interceptions or pass deflections on the year.

It would be tough to justify bringing in Diggs, as while he is talented, the Eagles' secondary is finally coming into form. The unit has allowed an NFL-best 56.5% completion percentage and 13 passing touchdowns.

Eagles fans would only point out whether Adoree' Jackson would be able to hold up as the CB2 with Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean back there as well. Jackson has been great over the last five games, allowing just 14 receptions for 158 yards and zero interceptions with two pass deflections and one interception.

It would be nice to have Diggs, but the Eagles don't necessarily need him for the playoff push, as the defense is rolling just fine without him.
