Philadelphia Eagles fans are now starting to question everything they know about the team, including rumors of a potential trade for wide receiver A.J. Brown.

This doubt stems from the New York Post sharing images of The Athletic's Dianna Russini and New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel. Russini and Vrabel released separate statements about the matter.

That didn't stop Eagles fans from asking questions about it, as they now don't even think a Brown trade could be real, since Russini has reported on the matter more than anyone else. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter was asked about Brown's trade talks amid fans' "suspicions" about Russini's close reporting. Schefter wouldn't go down the Russini-Vrabel route; instead, he focused on what he knows about Brown's situation by sharing a story that makes it feel real.

"The way I do my job is I weigh in when there are things that matter and when there's news. There have been plenty of trade talks that have gone on that I've known about. Let's put it this way, how about this: The Eagles and Rams were further along at one point than people realized. Was that out there? Was that out there. Was Dianna on that? Were other people on that? I don't know, but it was and at one point, I remember thinking, 'Boy, there's a chance it's gonna get done with the Rams.' And I was waiting to report it and it didn't get done."

Adam Schefter sticks to the A.J. Brown news

Looking only at the facts out there about the trade talks, the Brown situation is very real, as Schefter said. These talks have been happening throughout the offseason.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman, while stating how much he loves Brown, has been open about listening to conversations. Just at the owners' meeting, the Patriots and Rams brass have publicly talked about discussing Brown.

The Brown trade talks have been a sensitive subject for Eagles fans, as they don't want to believe a trade would happen. It's really been more about timing, as the national media wanted it to happen before the 2026 NFL Draft to add some drama, but realistically, the Eagles are right to wait until after June 1 to get it done.

There's still time, and plenty can change in the next two months, but Brown could realistically get traded, and it's something fans will have to accept. If he doesn't, great; if he does, it's fine too, because this team is still talented all around.
