Every NFL team has seen how the Philadelphia Eagles run their front office and believes it can replicate that model if it steals one of Philly's front office members.

Eagles fans saw that last offseason with multiple people from the front office leave for others jobs in college and the NFL as teams try to figure out the secret sauce that general manager Howie Roseman has. It looks like that will be more of the same this offseason, with the latest move being made.

The Miami Dolphins have a general manager opening and have requested permission to interview six outside candidates for the job. One of those who was asked to be interviewed was Eagles assistant general manager Alec Halaby.

Howie Roseman's right hand man might be out soon

Halaby is a lot like Roseman in how they got started in their careers, as Halaby has spent his whole career with the Eagles. He began in 2007 as an intern and worked his way up to assistant general manager in 2022, where he has won two Super Bowls with the Birds.

It comes as no surprise that Halaby is starting to get looks, as he was recently named as one of the top general manager candidates in the NFL for 2026, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer. He will most likely be considered for other openings, like the Atlanta Falcons' general manager position as well.

While the Eagles would love to keep Halaby as he has done great work with Roseman in the front office, NFL teams want to replicate what Philly is doing. They have set the gold standard in trade negotiations, free-agent signings, and salary-cap manipulation.

The Eagles will probably lose Halaby eventually, but will enjoy having him around a little bit more until some NFL team realizes how good he is and brings him in as the general manager.
