The Philadelphia Eagles aim to win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Their defense must stop an offense that just scared the life out of the Green Bay Packers. Stats-wise, the Jags' offense ranks in the middle of the pack in every major category, so we know they have the talent, but that isn't enough. This team isn't clicking as it should.
They have had problems scoring points sometimes. In four of their eight games this season, they have failed to hit the 20-point threshold.
Philly can't overlook them. They have some offensive weapons, many of whom are questionable for this game. Two of their best are questionable, and that may
The Eagles need to keep an eye on Trevor Lawrence.
Trevor Lawrence hasn't had the flashiest of seasons, nor has there been sustained success that shows he is worth the five-year, $275 million he signed in the offseason. He also hasn't been terrible.
He has thrown 11 touchdowns and four interceptions during . That isn't awful, but it is subpar when we discuss how much he is being paid.
Trevor could also experience difficulty remaining vertical. He and his offensive teammates lost a key piece of their front line recently. Left tackle Cam Robinson was traded to the Minnesota Vikings this week.
The Eagles' secondary may see their best chance to intercept a few passes this week during this matchup. Lawrence has thrown one in three of the last four games, but here's the question.
Who will he have at his disposal?
RB Tank Bigsby is a workhorse, but he's also questionable.
Tank Bigsby, has been one of the bright spots of this offense this year. He leads the Jags in rushing (493). He has also scored four touchdowns.
He's in his second season. He has also seen more touches this year because Travis Etienne Jr. has dealt with injuries.
Bigsby has exceeded the century mark twice this season. He eclipsed 100 yards rushing versus the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots, but he's questionable for the game on Sunday.
Brian Thomas Jr. is gifted but also questionable.
Brian Thomas Jr. is a former LSU star and a 2023 Second-Team All-SEC nod. He was chosen in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft and hasn't disappointed during his first season as a rookie.
He leads the team in receiving yards (573). He has also scored five touchdowns. With Christian Kirk out for the season, he'll see even more targets from Trevor Lawerence.
He's also questionable for Sunday. He was limited at Jags practice all week as he's been dealing with a chest injury.
Don't be shocked if Evan Engram sees a large number of targets on Sunday.
Evan Engram missed every Jags game from Weeks 2-5 because of a hamstring injury. He returned in Week 6, but with Christian Kirk gone and so many of his teammates ailing, he will be a favorite target of Trevor Lawerence's in the meantime.
He has only played in four games this season, but he ranks fifth on his team in receiving yards (178). Philly has no doubt discussed him during their defensive meetings.
Engram's most productive game of the season came in the loss to the Chicago Bears. That was his first game back from a four-week absence. He caught ten passes and racked up 102 yards. He also scored a TD in last week's 30-27 loss versus the Packers.
Philly is familiar with him from his days with the New York Giants. It appears acquaintances will be renewed in Week 9.
