There was a lot of talk about what the message former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown left for the team after it was announced regarding his trade to the New England Patriots.
It was reported earlier in the week that Brown stopped by the Eagles facility before heading out to the Patriots to pick up some personal belongings and say his goodbyes as he left a message on his Pro Bowl poster saying, "The best to ever play here. Always open." Brown was asked by Patriots reporters about the message as he decided to stay mum on the subject.
“I’m not going to get into that. I appreciated my time in Philly, you know? I’m where my feet are. That’s the only thing that matters.”
A.J. Brown does not answer the question on the message he left
Brown left a sour taste in a lot of Eagles fans' mouths regarding what he said in the message, as they believed it just once again showed the ego he has. While there is a lot of debate about where Brown ranks among Eagles receivers, he might have a slight point.
During his four-year run with the Eagles, Brown went for over 5,000 yards receiving, made two Pro Bowls, and was selected to three second-team All-Pros. The Eagles were transformed when he joined the team as they went to two Super Bowls and won in 2024.
Philly owes a lot to Brown for the kind of impact he made on the Eagles, but there was plenty of drama he brought to the franchise as well. From the complaints of a lack of targets to the cryptic messages he left on social media, Brown caused a lot of unnecessary drama to the franchise over the last two seasons.

The Eagles appeared to have moved on and don't want to deal with the subject anymore. Brown can say what he wants, but the fan base in Philly will be grateful for his years, and also feel better about him walking out the door.
