Has it sunk in yet? Your Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl 59 champions! They slayed the dragons, in this case, the two-time defending two-time Super Bowl Champions. They ended the Kansas City Chiefs' reign of terror!

This wasn't just one of the greatest wins in franchise history. It was also one of their most dominant. The Birds embarrassed Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Their MVP, the TRUE MVP Saquon Barley was held in check for much of the contest, but that's only true from a statistical standpoint. What he did in pass protection... The block he threw on that final bomb to DeVonta Smith... He was as important to the offensive attack as he always is.

There's a lesson in that too though. This Eagles team was dominant, they proved they could still be overwhelming if Saquon had an off-day.

The Chiefs had a plan...

Don't let Saquon Barkley beat us... Make Jalen Hurts beat us, and send the blitz to rattle the latter... Ladies and gentlemen, their plan didn't work!

That will be discussed every time this game is mentioned, but that isn't even the most interesting takeaway!

The Eagles vs. Chiefs Super Bowl tussle was never a game. It was a three-hour celebration and coronation.

We won't lie to you and tell you we expected the Eagles to dominate the Chiefs in such a convincing fashion. Kyle Brandt seemed to know. So did much of Philly's fan base. We apologize to you all. Maybe we should have listened to you!

Our theories weren't based on our lack of faith in Philly. They came from our respect for Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs.

And, yes... We have also been part of a screw job vs. these same Chiefs, so we considered the idea that the referees would also be a factor (even though Ron Torbert normally calls fair games).

We thought the best case-scenario was the Birds win by ten in a nail-biter. We thought the worst-case scenario was a Philly loss due to some sort of late implosion.

But, we didn't see a blowout win coming, and that ladies and gents is the biggest takeaway from Super Bowl 59. We aren't still in awe because Philly won. We expected that. We're still in shock because they made it look easy.

If that upsets you we apologize. You have to realize we're lifelong Eagles fans. WE SAW THE FOG BOWL. We lived consecutive NFC Championship Games. Three Super Bowl appearances in eight seasons and TWO SUPER BOWL wins just didn't seem like our destiny sometimes.

Things don't usually come that easy... not for us, but maybe it was our time. Maybe this was destined to be our moment.

The story seemed too perfect. Saquon Barkley's season... He and Cooper DeJean's birthday fell on Super Bowl Sunday... The Chiefs were again the opponent... Eric Allen was named as part of the 2025 Hall of Fame class.

So, enjoy this Birds fans. Your team has beaten Vince Lombardi, Bill Belichick, and Andy Reid. The cool part about that is this isn't the first time they threw a wrench in a possible three-peat. They did it two other times (though they did so in an unconventional fashion).

Hey, what can we say? Sometimes, you don't realize what you are witnessing until later, but that's not true in this case. Philly's dominating and convincing win over a modern-day dynasty was exactly what Philly sports fans needed. The game was a three-hour party followed by our squad's coronation!
