Everyone's biggest offseason question regarding the Philadelphia Eagles are what are they going to do with star disgruntled wide receiver A.J. Brown.
It's been clear over the last two years that Brown has been unhappy in Philadelphia, as he gets fewer targets and opportunities in the offense. That boiled over last year with cryptic tweets, comments on streams, sideline confrontations, not speaking with the media, and reports of multiple requests to be traded in 2025.
There's a lot that happened with Brown in 2025 that has sparked the conversation about whether the Eagles will trade him in the offseason or keep him if he wants to be back. Eagles defensive lineman Brandon Graham spoke on his Unblocked podcast where he was asked whether he believes that Brown will come back with the Philly legend giving a telling answer that might depend on another huge offseason decision.
"I think so. I do. I really do think so," Graham said. "If Howie make a splash with the coordinator, I think it will probably spark some interest with people wanting to come back and have a real conversation on how you feel about this and all that because I know Howie don't want to get rid of no good players."
A.J. Brown's future depends on who is the next offensive coordinator for the Eagles
This update is not too much of a surprise, as The Athletic's Dianna Russini said the same thing on Philly sports radio earlier in the week that it all falls on who will be the offensive coordinator. That search has not gone well so far, as the Eagles are the only team in the NFL with a veteran head coach who doesn't already have an offensive coordinator.
So far, that search for the new offensive coordinator has gone as badly as it could have been imagined by the Eagles. Their top candidates, including Mike McDaniel, Brian Daboll, and Zac Robinson, have all selected other places.
It was as clear as day that Brown was frustrated with former Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo and the job he did with the unit. Eagles fans shared in Brown's frustration after the unit finished in the bottom 15 in every important offensive category, leading to Patullo's removal from the position.
Brown finished the 2025 season with his worst stats as an Eagle, with 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. It was the first year in Philly that he didn't have any accolades or finish as the team's leading receiver, as DeVonta Smith beat him by five yards.

The NFL media seems to be deep down praying that Brown gets traded, but Graham's comments make it seem like the Eagles want to make it work with him. Philly would be happy to have Brown back in 2026 as long as he can avoid the cryptic messages.
