Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson is widely regarded as one of the best offensive tackles in the NFL. Well, almost everyone.
Several offseason offensive tackle rankings have Johnson in the top five or at least the top 10. It's clear to everyone that the future Hall of Famer is still dominant despite being 36.
The NFL has been sharing the list of the top 100 players, voted on by the players. They added a new twist by sharing the list from 110 through 101. Johnson found himself at 102.
Why is Lane Johnson ranked outside the top 100 players in the NFL?
We are talking about a player who allowed zero sacks in 262 pass-blocking snaps last year. Johnson was well on his way to being selected to another Pro Bowl and an All-Pro selection.
Instead, he is most likely getting hit because it is a ranking of the top 100 players from 2025. That means he's probably getting punished for missing the last seven games of the regular season and the playoff game because of his foot injury.
There are other players who were hurt from last season that still made the top 100. Guys like Lamar Jackson missed multiple games and still made the top 100 list.
This is a whole new level of disrespect towards Johnson, who has been the best at right tackle for over a decade. He's been a six-time Pro Bowler, a two-time first-team All-Pro, and has won two Super Bowls.
Even a banged-up Johnson would be better than most of the tackles in the NFL. His ability to pass block with such ease and be a lead blocker for Saquon Barkley in the running game is a rare combination.
Not sure where to go from here, but Johnson has some nice bulletin board material to work with in the 2026 season. His colleagues think there are 101 players who are better than him, which is no way the case. Even missing time with an injury shouldn't hurt him from being one of the top players in the NFL last season.

The 2026 season is truly becoming a redemption story for the Eagles from all different angles. Johnson is ready to show the NFL that even if he is in the twilight of his NFL career, he is putting everyone to shame.
