Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean had a Week 1 to forget, but he bounced back with a vengeance, delivering a stellar performance in the 24-20 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 2.
DeJean struggled against the Washington Commanders, showing problems in coverage and missing tackles. That led to news that he was actually dealing with an injury and played through it. Although he missed a day of practice, he still returned and played against Tennessee.
It was like he was never hurt, as he played like the All-Pro he has been. Eagles fans were happy to see their star defender get things back on track with a great performance.

The stat line may not be as sexy as fans would want, with just five tackles. His advanced stats are what fans should be looking at, as he was targeted by Cam Ward twice, with one reception for five yards and a passer rating of 56.3, according to Sports Illustrated's Jeff Kerr.

It was exactly what Eagles fans needed to see from him. This game wasn't about him getting turnovers or making 10 tackles. Improvement was need and it show.
The Titans game was important to see how he looked and if he was truly healthy. Maybe he wasn't 100% in the contest, but Eagles fans wouldn't notice because they've seen him play like the Pro Bowl nickel corner he is.
DeJean is such an important piece of this Eagles defense, and his impact is felt when he isn't 100% healthy. He can do so much for this defense, from helping in coverage to playing in the box to stop the run. Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio asks a lot of his third-year defensive back, and DeJean delivers nearly every time.
Everyone knew that Week 1 was just a fluke performance from DeJean and figured he would bounce back. The Titans game proved he needed time to adjust, and now he is back on track, proving he's one of the top corners in the NFL.
DeJean's return to the top comes at a good time with the Chicago Bears next on the schedule for Monday Night Football. The Bears may not have Caleb Williams for the game because of his hamstring injury, but Chicago still has plenty of weapons DeJean will have to worry about. Watch for DeJean to face Colston Loveland and Kalif Raymond.

The Eagles' defense and DeJean will be put to the test against a very good Bears offense, but Philly has an elite defense that can keep up with any offense in the NFL.
