Cowboys got the Joey Porter Jr. trade done (but there's no stress from Eagles)

We are not worried at all.

The Dallas Cowboys threw up a desperate Hail Mary, as they traded for cornerback Joey Porter Jr. from the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the Philadelphia Eagles just need to be chilling after that.

Dallas traded a 2027 sixth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick to the Steelers to acquire Porter. The Cowboys have been going through multiple injuries in their secondary, forcing their hand in making the trade happen now rather than later.

Some in Philly might be looking at this move as a positive for Dallas and that it signals they are trying to compete with the Eagles for the division. Let's be clear about something, as the great Minecraft legend (and Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl-winning champion, I guess) Mike Tomlin once said: "We do not care."

Eagles have zero reason to be stressing about Cowboys' desperate Joey Porter Jr.

One, the Cowboys just gave up two future draft picks again. That leaves them with only five to work with in 2027. They just mortgaged their future for a cornerback who's been injured all season and wants a new deal.

Porter is in the final year of his rookie contract, but the Cowboys aren't looking to extend him right now. They risk losing him right after giving up a second-round pick in 2028 for him.

The crazy part is that while this trade may look good on paper for 2027, the Cowboys actually hurt themselves in a big way. They will either have to overpay for a cornerback with zero Pro Bowls on his resume or lose a guy in free agency when that 2028 second-round pick could have gotten them a future starter.

Philly has to be looking at this and just not even giving it a second thought. This is not going to change anything about the Eagles in the present moment.

Sure, things aren't exactly in the best place for the Philadelphia Eagles right now. The offense and defense struggled in the 27-7 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 3. That's one game, though, and this Eagles team has been very good about bouncing back from losses.

The Eagles are still in prime position to win the NFC East, and yes, the Cowboys could be their biggest threat in the division. They are the only team with a healthy quarterback outside of Philly, so that's already a massive advantage.

Regardless, the Eagles lead the division with a 2-1 record, so there's no reason to stress. The Cowboys are stressing more after giving up a lot while trying to make their sad 1-2 start better.
