With multiple key starters available in free agency, it will not make life easy for the Philadelphia Eagles as they decide whom to bring back and whom to let walk.
Between Jaelan Phillips, Reed Blankenship, Nakobe Dean, and Dallas Goedert, the choices only make the Eagles' situation tougher during the 2026 offseason. Goedert seems to be at the bottom of the priority list, but a new projected price tag could change that.
FOX NFL reporter Greg Auman ranked the top 100 free agents in the offseason and identified some projected fits for them, placing Goedert 55th on the list. Auman shared his thoughts on Goedert's free agency projection.
"Goedert, 31, probably isn't going anywhere — he's played his eight-year career in Philadelphia, and more than doubled his career high with 11 touchdowns in 2025. He's a reliable target on a team that lacks depth at receiver, so his steady mid-level production (between 40 and 60 catches for the last seven years) is a constant even as the Eagles change offensive coordinators every year. He restructured to a $10 million deal last year and will likely take less to return for 2026."
Any chance Dallas Goedert returns for Eagles?
Everyone will look at the face that Goedert broke a franchise record for receiving touchdowns by a tight end with 11, but that doesn't quite tell the whole story for the season. He also had 60 receptions for 591 yards, but averaged a career-low 9.8 yards per reception.
The Eagles' former second-round pick in 2018 would be a "nice-to-have-back" kind of option for the team, but even if it is lower than the cost of what he was paid last season for the Eagles, it still seems like a high price to pay. His production is declining, he doesn't seem to be improving as a tight end, and he's aging.
Philly will have a very empty tight end room going into free agency, so there is a strong chance that with new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion in the picture, he will want to bring in his own tight ends for the new system. It could also push the Eagles to select a tight end early in the NFL Draft.

Goedert had a great career for the Eagles and helped the team in so many ways, but it might be time to move on from him.
