One moment still has people talking about the intent behind the Philadelphia Eagles' 29-18 win over the Washington Commanders.
After Tank Bigsby's touchdown run to give the Eagles a 27-10 lead over the Commanders in the fourth quarter, head coach Nick Sirianni decided to go for the two-point conversion, which Saquon Barkley converted to make it 29-10. Washington did not like that, which resulted in a fight with three players getting ejected, with just one from the Eagles, right guard Tyler Steen.
Interestingly enough, Commanders head coach Dan Quinn was also not too fond of Sirianni's decision. After the game, Quinn seemed to give some motivational warning.
"If that's how they want to get down, all good. We'll play them again in two weeks.”
Interesting that Quinn has motivation to beat Eagles when it wasn't shown in fourth quarter
It's just funny to see Quinn upset by Sirianni's decision. When fans looked at his choices in the fourth quarter, it certainly didn't seem like he had urgency in coming back. After the 21-10 deficit before the fight, Washington had two drives that went three-and-out, and they punted both times despite being down two possessions and needing to be aggressive.
Quinn didn't get aggressive until their final offensive drive when they were down by 19 points and were pretty much already out of the game. He wants to get upset when Sirianni is going for the win, but he isn't even trying that hard to get there. Interesting....
Sirianni explained after the game that he wasn't trying to run up the score. He was trying to make it nearly impossible to come back; being up by three possessions, which requires two two-point conversions, would make it tough on Washington.
Commanders fans have to understand that the Eagles have blown multiple significant leads, resulting in two losses and almost losing a few more. Also, Eagles kicker Jake Elliott had missed two field goals in the game, so there was a lack of trust there, even if Sirianni is never going to admit that in public.

Quinn's warning that the Commanders will face the Eagles in two weeks means absolutely nothing, since they are out of the playoffs. The Birds won the NFC East division title by beating them in Week 16. If he needs motivation for a meaningless Week 18 game, more power to him, as the Eagles will most likely bench their starters anyway.
