The praise continues for new Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, as he certainly has the attention of many people in the NFL.
One of the biggest topics of discussion for Eagles reporters at the Super Bowl is asking those on the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks about Mannion and their thoughts on him landing the new gig. Seahawks backup quarterback Drew Lock chimed in as he shared his experience with playing with Mannion when the two were in Seattle in 2022 and 2023.
"Some of the stuff that he would do, like after practice, I continue to do because of him," Lock said via PHLY. "The way he'd studied throughout the week, I continue to do because of him. I've been around a lot of really good quarterbacks that I take things from. I've taken the most from Sean."

A lot has been said about how intelligent Mannion is, with the same comment made about him knowing the playbook well. This is a massive advantage for the Eagles, as they have someone with a high football IQ.
One way that could help the Eagles is by coming up with innovative, creative plays to open up the offense. Hopefully, it will look better than running multiple hitch routes a game or strictly running on first and second down in the second half of every game.
The Eagles' offense could use someone as smart as Mannion to really change how it looks after how predictable it was in 2025. Philly was ranked in the bottom 15 in all major offensive categories because defenses know what was coming; literally, Chicago Bears safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson admitted this after the two teams played on Black Friday.

To say that Mannion is joining the franchise at its most critical moment is an understatement. He might not have the experience of other offensive coordinators, but he brings a whole new dynamic to the position that has been needed over the last year.
