The Philadelphia Eagles fan base is praying the team can finally fix the offensive issues that have plagued them over the first 13 games of the season.
It has gotten horrible since the bye week, as the offense has not scored more than 21 points in a game over the last five weeks. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts went from three total turnovers in the first eight games to eight in the previous five contests. The offensive line continues to get banged up, wide receiver A.J. Brown is dropping passes and causing penalties, running back Saquon Barkley can't run the ball efficiently, and offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo can't get into a rhythm with the play calling.
Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith was asked about the offensive issues for the team, and for him, it's a pretty obvious, glaring issue every fan would agree with.
"When we're not shooting ourselves in the foot, we operate pretty well. ...We always make a big splash and then do something stupid."
Eagles have to clean up the mental mistakes
Philly has always been a disciplined team, but this season it has been penalized frequently. The Eagles are ranked fifth in the NFL in penalties this season with 97. They are fifth for the fourth most penalty yards accumulated in the league with 818.
It's not just the penalties, but the turnovers over the last month that have been killers for this team as well. Hurts's eight turnovers since the bye week have put the Eagles in holes they shouldn't have been in.
Is there any silver lining to the Eagles? Smith said at least one good thing they have been able to do better that was shown in the 22-19 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14.
"Our tempo. We operated faster. Got in and out of the huddle pretty good."

It's going to take a lot more than moving faster on the field to get this offense going. Let's hope the Eagles have more up their sleeves in Week 15 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
