The biggest problem plaguing the Philadelphia Eagles' offense is actually pretty straightforward, and it's a pill that may be tough for Eagles fans to swallow.
It's no secret that the offense of the 2025 Philadelphia Eagles is a shell of what it was during the Eagles' Super Bowl championship season of 2024. Many of us have been quick to point fingers, primarily at offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, and to a lesser extent, A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts.
Hard Knocks has shed some light on the situation. The thing is, though, the biggest thing holding back this offense has been right in front of our noses the entire time, and it's perhaps the hardest thing for the Eagles and their fans to admit.
Arguably, the most significant driving force behind the most fruitful era of Eagles football has been the offensive line. Simply put, Jeff Stoutland University has been the engine that has made this machine go. In 2025, that has been far from the case.
Eagles know more than anyone that it all comes down to the trenches
In a lot of ways, the shutout win against the Las Vegas Raiders was a get-right game for the Eagles. The rejuvenation of the Hurts-Brown connection finally resulted in not just a win, but a demolition job. Heck, even the playcalling looks to have turned a corner (please). Now, the NFC East crown is one win away.
The thing is, that is only well and good if the offensive line can get back to the level their potential allows them to reach. Now, this is not saying that it's a talent issue at all.
The truth of the matter is, though, Landon Dickerson HAD SURGERY during training camp, and his warrior nature came back before he was completely ready. Meanwhile, center Cam Jurgens has been banged up all season, and can even be traced back to last season's playoffs, and the play of the entire interior has taken a bit of a step back.
This doesn't even mention that age is starting to catch up with Lane Johnson's body, though not his spirit. Meanwhile, Jordan Mailata has taken a bit of a step back due to being asked to carry the load as the healthiest stud on the line, which is perfectly understandable, and Tyler Steen has been ok, if not unspectacular. Unfortunately, though, this muddled stew hasn't exactly been the recipe for success.
Here lies the silver lining playbook. This isn't 2023. That year, the defense was in open revolt, and this defense is elite. For the offense, they look to be getting their swagger back, while the line is getting right health-wise. The offensive line's struggles are attributed to health issues.

With it, just about playoff time, the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles should be ready to defend their crown. It all comes down to the offensive line, as it always has.
