Well, it's just another week where the Philadelphia Eagles are going to be without their top two linemen on the team and starting to feel like a broken record at this point, right?
The Eagles shared their final Week 16 injury report with defensive tackle Jalen Carter (shoulders) and right tackle Lane Johnson (foot) both being ruled out for the Washington Commanders game. This will be Carter's third straight game missed, while this will be the fifth game Johnson has missed this season.
Philly did have good news as running back Saquon Barkley (stinger) and Lane Johnson's replacement at right tackle, Fred Johnson (ankle), were both full participants and will be playing in the Commanders matchup. Starting left guard Landon Dickerson is good to go as well after dealing with the calf injury and getting some rest.
Eagles fans deal with the same bad news about Lane Johnson and Jalen Carter
The Eagles' defense managed to rack up 11 sacks in the last two games and hold the Las Vegas Raiders to a historical low 75 yards without Carter in the line, so they should be fine. Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, Byron Young, and Ty Robinson have been filling in nicely, with Brandon Graham getting snaps on the inside as well.
Lane Johnson's injury is still a tough one, as he was supposed to be out for just four weeks, but now it's getting past that timeframe. At this point, some are starting to wonder whether he will even play the rest of the regular season or hold him out for the postseason.
Philly has been able to lean on Fred Johnson to replace Lane, and Fred has done a nice job at right tackle. Expect him to be still doing well, with some concerned about the ankle.
Barkley was the only other concern this week, but he has been banged up throughout the season, so it's not too much of a surprise to see him on the report. The Eagles are still looking good in the backfield with Barkley hanging in there.

It's tough news for the Eagles, but they are facing a Commanders team with four wins, so the hope is they have enough talent to hold up for a win and take home the NFC East title.
