The big news this week was that the Washington Commanders would not have quarterback Jayden Daniels for the rest of the season, directly impacting the Philadelphia Eagles' two games in the final three of the season.

It got even worse for the Commanders, as head coach Dan Quinn confirmed that starting offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil will be out for the Eagles showdown in Week 16. Tunsil has been dealing with an oblique injury that he suffered in the New York Giants game last week.

This now means the Commanders will be down two of their top three offensive players for the game against one of the hottest defenses in the NFL, the Eagles.

Philly has a chance to go wild on the Commanders

The first thought that comes to mind with this is how the pass rush of the Eagles has a chance to put up big numbers against the Commanders. Philly has had 11 sacks in the last two games, led by top guys like Brandon Graham, Jalyx Hunt, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, and Byron Young.

Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota is nobody to overlook for the Eagles, as Philly is familiar with him, having been a former backup to the Birds just a few years ago. Mariota has some of the same traits that have made Daniels dangerous as a mobile quarterback.

Washington is facing the Eagles at the worst time, as the defense in Philly is coming off a historic performance, allowing just 75 yards in the 31-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. This Eagles defensive unit has been on a hot streak since the bye week, outside of the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears games.

With a backup quarterback and a banged-up offensive line, the Eagles could be threatening to do big things in a game they desperately need to win to lock up the NFC East.
