Seems to be getting back on track for the Philadelphia Eagles on offense after a dominating performance in the 31-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15.
The Eagles' offense nearly put up 400 yards, and quarterback Jalen Hurts excelled with a 75% completion rate for 175 yards and three touchdowns, adding 39 yards on the ground. From the QB-designed runs to lining up under center nearly 50% of the time, Hurts and the Eagles' offense rolled strong when they needed to.
Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo praised the job Hurts has done when lining up under center from the beginning of the season until now.
"He's done a really good job," Patullo said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "I mean really from when we kind of started doing this early in the season, working through the Vikings game, that was a big step for him. He works extremely hard at it. You can see him even in between periods, in between special teams stuff, whatever he needs to do. He's working on his footwork, working on the timing. He's extremely dedicated to make sure he's always on time and in rhythm and he's working the under-center stuff because it is a little new. We've dabbled in it obviously in the past, but he's doing a great job with it, and he works extremely hard at it, so it's been great."
Hurts and the Eagles' offense got the plan, but can they stick with it?
It's been a roller coaster of a season for the Eagles' offense, but they finally seem to be having some confidence heading their way after an excellent performance. The problem is that every time they have a strong game, as they had against the Raiders, they regress worse than before.
Philly has the strategy in place to be successful. It's all about running the football. The Eagles ran the ball 47 times and threw it 18 times in the Raiders game, which is what made them so good a season ago.
Running back Saquon Barkley should be the number one option in this offense and should touch the ball 20-25 times a game. It should also be sprinkled in with Hurts' runs, and even get someone like Tank Bigsby or Will Shipley involved, not just make them third down backs.

Eagles fans will wait and see how it goes against the Washington Commanders in Week 16, but the offense needs to repeat precisely what they did against Las Vegas to stay on top of their game.
