Through some roster shuffling, the Philadelphia Eagles are bringing back defensive end Titus Leo after releasing Parry Nickerson before Week 14.

Leo returns to Philadelphia after spending 12 days with the team, and one day with the team earlier last month. Leo has been in the NFL since coming out of FCS Wagner (Staten Island, NY) in 2023, where he was a two-time conference defensive player of the year and an FCS All-American, which earned him a sixth-round draft pick by the Colts.

Since leaving Wagner, Leo has spent time with the Colts, Patriots, Titans, Browns, and Eagles. His only extended action came with the New England Patriots in 2024, appearing in four games, recording four tackles, and a pass breakup.

What Leo's arrival could mean for Eagles' defense

The signing of Leo could allow the Eagles to have extra defensive line depth with both Jaelan Phillips and Jalen Carter on the Eagles' injury report. Phillips is currently listed as a limited participant with a concussion, as Carter is out for Monday's game after a shoulder procedure. Leo could allow for extra flexibility at the EDGE position, while possibly allowing the Eagles to mix and match inside as well.

The signing of Leo could be a precautionary and proactive move if Phillips is not able to go. With Carter, the Eagles will most likely lean on Ty Robinson, who will now be in the spotlight after Carter's surgery. Robinson has had limited snaps this year and has been allowed to make an impact during his limited opportunities.

Leo may not be the only option for an elevation in Week 14 if needed. Patrick Johnson, Ta'Quon Graham, and Gabe Hall all can assist on the defensive line if called upon. The Eagles will take on the Chargers on Monday Night Football to close out Week 14 of the 2025 season.
